They`re named after the 13th Century Czechoslovakian King Wenceslaus , who is credited with helping to convince the Pope to repeal a ban on brewing. He also founded the city of lzen - Pilsen, West Bohemia`s capital and home to the first Pilsner ever brewed in 1842.
